At 29, Erick Lee was the first rising star of Red Bean Opera’s youth programs. At age 10, he accompanied his mother, Linda Lee, to San Francisco’s Great Star Theater for her first operatic appearance. Shortly thereafter, he made his debut in a bit part as a soldier and by age 13 stepped into his first major role, as the son of an angel and a mortal in The Lotus Lantern. Since then, after having matured into one of Red Bean Opera’s leading performers, he has joined the troupe’s faculty as a principal instructor for the youth programs and additionally assists as a co-producer and co-director for many Red Bean Opera’s live presentations.
