5th Annual Yang-Sing Cantonese Opera Festival

This exciting event in Guangzhou, China, was attended by more than 120 people from the San Francisco Bay Area representing 15 Cantonese Opera musical clubs. Red Bean Cantonese Opera House was represented by more than 20 members plus their family and friends. Many members extended their trip by visiting their home towns and Hong Kong. The first Yang-Sing Cantonese Opera Festival was in 1990, and each festival has attracted more people from around the world. This year the representatives from the San Francisco Bay Area were very fortunate to be invited to Shunde and Daliang from November 17 through 19, hosted by Mr. Ziliu Li and his Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Foundation. Mr. Ziliu Li was a former major of Guangzhou and the CEO and President of many business ventures and companies. Many famous Cantonese Opera actors and actresses participated in the festive events and performed in the shows. The most famous Cantonese actress, Hung Seen-Ngliu, participated in the grand opening luncheon and evening show.
